Regardless of what you decide on it will need to be attached to the floor in some way just for safety reasons. Consider the weight of the tub itself, the tub filled with water, the tub with water and a person in it.
Naomie is right. This link is about a cradel support you can make from 2 10" by 10" pieces of wood. If you have the room, a 12" by 12" would probably be best. If you are concerned about the floor, perhaps some scrap carpeting cut to the bottom shape, going in about 1" to hide it.

If you wanted, you could also just make 2 cuts the length of the tub legs from side to side or front to back, and set the legs on top. I hope that helps.
I really want to keep the claw feet, this is going to defeat that purpose. I will submit a photo that show how it is right now. Thank you for answering and helping me find a good solution
