I need more room in my bathroom

Tink Moments
by Tink Moments
We are downsizing 2 and 1/2 bathrooms (in our current home) to one bathroom in our new RV home, and I am stressing about having enough storage. I would love to hear anyone's ideas on creating extra storage.
Sorry about the weird bathroom angles, I was not think I would be using them for a question about storage.
Thanks!

First of all move the toilet paperroller down and add a cabinet.

I never would have seen that potential space. It is like I tell my boys, a fresh pair of eyes can give you a new perspective. Thank you!

I'm working on a similar situation in the kitchen of my mobile home. My hubby came up with the idea of a retractable shelf. We're in the process of getting the supplies together, so it's not finished yet. Basically though, we're going to use articulating arms ( think big screen TV mounts) from the ceiling. It's going to be controlled by remote so that at the push of a button, the shelf will come down. You could do something something similar in your bathroom. It would be out of the way and retract high enough so as not to impede headroom.

You should absolutely share your transformation/renovations! I have friends who I am helping with their move into a travel trailer. I can definitely use any ideas you might have too! Please share! The other option for your spice rack (and cheaper too) is use screws instead of the magnetic strip. Drill your screws from the inside bottom of the cabinet and drill into the lid of the jar. Then you can just unscrew the jar you want to use (the lid will stay in place). You could do the same thing with your bathroom too. The nice thing is you are only limited in how big of the container. Don't get me wrong, I love magnets but if you're going to be traveling and hit a bump, your magnets have to be strong enough to withstand the jarring.

This is my go-to site for RV storage. You can find things you may have never thought of. I hope this helps.

Overhead space is often overlooked. You can hang rods and baskets form the ceiling.

Thank you, I will tell my husband that there is a new way for him to keep things out of my reach. I am 5 ft on a good day, and so much of the storage is up high. Don't get me wrong, the extra kitchen storage was one of the things we loved, but at least half is out of reach!

Your RV is lovely. I'm thinking some sort of shelving braced on the shower wall. You could go either floor to ceiling (pressure type poles) or hanging on the top of the shower wall. If that's not an option I'd go with Command hooks and hang baskets from them. That way they're decorative, useful and non-permanent if you want a change.

Thanks! I like the basket idea. I could possibly combine both ideas. Pressure pole (above head bumping height of course), with a row of baskets hanging from them.

Hi Tink :) (love that name! That's what we call my niece :) ) Anyway, shelving wehrever you can put it -- tucked into small spaces, on the walls, over the doors, in the shower (or those plastic shoe hangers that hold something like 12 or 24 pairs of shoes hanging on the wall over the doors, in the shower or from the shower rod (to hold shampoo, soap dispensers, even toothpaste and deodorant and razor, etc) and just poke a few little holes in the bottom of each shoe holder to let water drain out instead of accumulate. I am posting a few Pinterest links bleow that show tons of ideas to use for storage when RVing. I hope it gives you some great ideas to use. Enjoy yourself, and thank for asking Hometalk for solutions :)

So many wonderful ideas and the links. Thanks! And the name, mine was given to me by my family. I am short and petite. I can be as sweet as my mud pie, or as head strong as, well...Tinkerbell! Oh, and I can't leave out that if I were a pixie, I would definitely be a tinker.

Lol. Just put all of his toiletries up there. . And maybe cleaning supplies so only he can get to it.

Hello Tink; A Friend of mine has an RV. She showed me hers and I came up with some ideas that might be helpful to you.

The bed is raised, and she has space under it. We got clear boxes, so that she can store items there.

We added more shelving anywhere possible!!! Bedroom, closets, bathroom, kitchen.

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

Hi Sunny! Thanks for all of the suggestions. We are heading over today to for our final walk through. I will definitely be taking a tape measure and scoping out some locations and measuring to see what I can fit where.

Thank you again everyone. I now have my creator's blueprints in my head of what all I want to do. I couldn't have got there without you.
