most herbs need hours and hours of full sun to really thrive - basil and mint need lots of moisture, but rosemary and oregano can tolerate quite dry environments, I have found that bigger pots are better, but group them so that the plants have similar growing needs.
if the plants are getting 'leggy', they are not getting enough light, and should be cut back and moved to the brightest window you have.
Cilantro and chives
They are probably not getting enough light. I would get them their own grow light. You can buy them on Amazon or Home Depot sells just the bulbs and you provide the lamp. Should make all the difference.
Thyme is a good one.
I had rosemary grow into a small bush last winter in a south window, but the rest of my herbs struggled from not enough light and got leggy and had to be replaced in the spring. May need grow light even in south window if you don't get direct sun shining in the window. My herbs, lettuce, a couple of pepper plants and a huge tomato plant only get about four hours of direct sun a day on the west side of the house on a single car driveway, garage and neighbors house blocking most of the sun. They are all doing great, only the peppers aren't producing as many peppers as they would in a garden. Have at least two dozen early girl tomatoes on a six foot plant.
your plants, peppers and tomatoes all will thrive on epsom salts. Simply mix 1 gallon water and 1 tablespoon epsom salts and water monthly.
