How to turn a tv stand into a book shelf?

I looked for a pic so I don't waste your time. If you have a lightweight stand on wheels, you already have a book shelf. I would split the width in half with a divider. (Measure a 1" x 4 or 6" board to fit across the center is your stand. Sand, paint, seal the board, then mount it with elbow clamps and screws. Put books on both sides.

If there is a cabinet below, or any other space, measure the height of the books you want to put on shelves. Add three inches to that height. Now find every other space in or on the stand where shelves that height could go. Open spaces could feature back to back shelving. Enclosed spaces might be tall enough for two shelves. If not, put another length of the board inside the space, lying on its flat side. You can attach this board or leave it lying in place. Its purpose is to lift a second row of books up one inch. If you have space, you can add more boards to left the books even higher.

Clean the wheels or rollers and other hardware. Sand any rough edges on the stand. Then I would tape off the metal and paint the whole stand a bright color or two. Best wishes 😇

I know, however, that what I would do is leave the doors off of it so I have easy access to the shelves (and I would probably install some of those little slide out gadgets to make a slidig shelf to pull out so I would not have to strain when leaning over to find a book. They would be stacked side by side with their spines up so when I pull out the shelving I could seethe titles right away. Well, it's just a thought. Good Luck. You can usually turn it on its side to give it a new purpose as a bookshelf. And, you can give it a paint job for its second wind- good luck!
