sorry, didn't realize i had started a thread!
re: comfrey- i thought that the herb with the amazing taproot and large leaves was comfrey, but it never flowers and doesn't look exactly like the photos online. I thought that tilling yearly was inhibiting flowering but the plot next to mine has what appears to be flowering comfrey. The gardener isn't around when I am so i cannot ask him what it is. Being a community garden, whether or not the plot gets tilled 2+yearly is out of my control.
