what trees are you referring to

yes, and if it is oranges, tangerines or grapefruit the produce twice a year.
Most do, but they have good years and bad years.
They should, unless they are sick or under nourished. It also depends on their age, like a young tree can take anywhere from 2-5 years after it has been transplanted. It takes this long, because the roots need to get what I call "acquainted" with the new soil it is now in, than where it was before. I know when I planted my peach tree - the very next year it had these tiny little peaches on it with tiny little pits. The next year the peaches were a little bigger... and the many years after they were regular sized.
The apple and cherry trees a planted about two years later, just flowered this past year, but because there was a hard freeze the cherry trees and plum tree flowers didn't produce any fruit. But one of my apple trees has fruit on it for the first time, since I planted it nearly 3 years ago.
So yes, the other thing that keeps fruit trees from not fruiting is needing another tree for better pollination, and when there is a hard freeze after or while the tree has blossoms.
