The rubber cover on my fridge handle is peeling off. The fridge is old so I'm not really willing to spend the $$$ for a replacement. Any brilliant ideas what I can use? Maybe a piece of black hose?

Do you crochet or know someone who does? You could crochet (or knit) a lace up cotton cover for it.

I would try to stop it from peeling by using some type of glue, like maybe E6000 & a glue gun. Use the E6000 first, then use the glue gun to get it to stick right away. The glue gun glue most times won't last that long, but the E6000 may last forever, however, it takes a while to set. That is why I use both, when I am working on projects that I want to be sturdy, but I also want to finish them faster.

Hello Linda, I am assuming that gluing it back in to place is not an option. Another idea is to take it completely off and use it as a template to create another one from a piece of plastic. Plastic three-ring binders come in all colors and degrees of thickness. You could use a black one to cut the size you need. And, yes, you could use a piece of hose. Just cut a straight line up the hose and fit it around your handle. Hope these ideas help you. Good luck.

Good idea to glue it with two glues.

I remembered that I had bought a small bottle of a new CLEAR Gorilla Glue. It's non-foaming unlike the original GG which I swear by. By tonight in the heat, there was a gap of almost 3"! So I tried it and the handle is now sitting under 4 clamps! The stuff has a 24 hr cure time so the clamps are on until tomorrow night. If not, I'll have to go to plan B (???). I like that idea of the binders-flexible, etc. but with any luck plan A will work. Thanks for the help, I'll keep you posted.

Remove the rubber and use Plasti-Dip or a similar product.
