How to clean shelves in a self clean oven?

While turning off my oven, I accidentally hit ven clean and we couldn't stop the cycle. How can I repair the damage to my shelves? They lost all brite original color and are brownish

Have you tried using steel wool to clean, polish them? It works well, takes time but should give the shine back.
