Feed them with a water soulable fertilizer with lower nitrogen and higher phosphorus
Miracle Grow always works for me!
most likely they are root bound. transfer them to larger pots and use good potting soil from the store. if they are perennials they aren't meant to be potted and need more space for roots as if they were outside.
Potted plants don't get nutrients from the soil unless you add them. I would use Miracle grow, either the water soluble or extended release to give them the nutrients they need. On potted flowers you can foliar feed and that will work to increase flowering, or you have a choice to feed on a schedule or each time you water with a different formula of less fertilizer in the water. Either way I think you will see a difference.
Thanks
This sounds silly, but I've found indoor plants like green. I had green curtains in a room with my plants and they thrived. I changed my curtains to brown and they actually started dying.
