I also have an incredible amount of insects, from ant, ticks, fleas to spiders, earwig's ect. In even find snails with shells! on hot humid morning's. I've always lived in the country dealing with snakes & snapping turtles. This is getting rediculace, I've used granuales, concentrated sprays outside & I'm my basement (probably way too much!). Help!

There is no way to keep nature out of nature. Your poisonous chemicals are far worse than bugs

I get it with the poison that I used, that's why I really hopeing there was a "natural" was to get rid of them. It's rediculace really, I can't even let my Grandaughter outside to play! The cat can't go out, I always treat both the dog & cat for fleas & tick's but with so many insect's that brings ? MOLES & SHREW'S this is out of hand & I'm considering moving because I can't have flowers, any sort of garden? Help!

Try diatomaceous earth. It's harmless to people/pets and deadly to insects. It's commonly available at Lowe's/Home Depot or pool supply places.

It works best dry, so it will need to be re-applied after rains/watering.

Spread diatomaceous earth around your yard to get rid of the worst of them . Read up on it before you purchase .

Thank you, I see they sell it on Amazon, but there are a few different kinds. I'll have to read up on it! Thanks again!

Bring in some bird feeders, they will eat a lot of the insects. Make your own essential oil sprays for mosquitoes (Lemon Eucalyptus). Plant some mint around your foundation for ants. Keep treating both the dog and cat for fleas and ticks, you will not get rid of those on your property if you have furry wild animals visiting. It takes time to balance things organically, but trust me, it will happen.

Oh and for slugs and snails, plant your flowers in pots and wrap a band of copper around them, or glue a band of pennies all the way around. That will keep them out. Next year you will be able to plant in the ground with little problem because the birds you have brought will eat them in the spring when they are feeding their young.

  • For flea control use vinegar - put in a pump sprayer, full strength - spray the perimeter of your property then around the base of your home and spray the dirt and ground only. Peppermint oil is good for use around porches, steps and doors. Moving will not solve your problem. Deal with one pest at a time. You can do this, just be patient!

We bought an $80 hand held Fogger from Canadian Tire, filled it with Citronella and sprayed our yard. Worked good!
