How can I turn a table lamp into a ceiling fixture.

I have three beautiful 50s lamps and a very long hall way I would like to hang the lamps on the ceiling. Leaving the shades etc. I want it to look like the lamps are floating. The lamps are about 15lbs each. I want them to have matching shades.

cute idea. It's hard to answer because I don't have a full concept on what you're looking for. "Back in the day" there used to be such a thing as a swag light that would hang from the ceiling without being hard-wired. It would use a hook in the ceiling and then the cord would be brought to the wall and down the side to a plug. This is hard for me to explain but thinking somehow you could recreate this method.
