Scraping it all off with a wide putty knife is best, but if your home is older you'll need to test it for asbestos first. Quick fix would be to put down a plastic dropcloth and spray the offending areas with bleach or white vinegar.

Check for asbestos before touching your ceiling. If not asbestos, buy a cheap pump sprayer and fill w/ water. Cover floor and any permanent fixtures of emptied room with sheets of plastic. Spray ceiling with water thoroughly soaking the popcorn. Use a floor scraper and scrape down.

Wear protective clothing, goggles, and mask for this job. You can also use plastic and painters tape to cover doorways and protect the rest of your house from the mess.

    Hope that helps

Replace the ceiling tiles with what you had. I'm not quite sure what you mean about the mold. If it has mold you must get an exhaust fan in the bathroom, or if you have a window crack it at the top to let the steam out. Good Luck!

Do you have a ventilation fan in your bathroom to remove humidity from the room? Check for any problems with roofing that could be causing leaks. In some homes it is necessary to have a dehumidifier to remove moisture in the air. Removing popcorn ceilings is a very messy ordeal, involving moistening the surface first and scraping it off.
