I rented out my trailer in Mexico and when my neighbor went over to open the trailer he said Nicotine was horrible. He washed walls and kitchen cabinets down and I couldn't smell anything when I got there the next day.
Have you tried TSP? That stuff removes almost anything.
Ammonia will take off nicotine/tar from cigarettes. When we cleaned out a relative's house that was completely lacquered with the stuff, straight ammonia from the bottle did the trick beautifully and once everything was rinsed with clean water and dried, there was no ammonia odor.
Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can. Spray it on, let it foam and sit till it liquefies. Rinse away. Works on porcelain and fiberglass.
