Should coneflowers be deadheaded?

The blossoms do last a long time but then get sad looking...do we just remove the blossom or the entire flower stalk?

It never hurts to deadhead as it will often encourage regrowth, I would cut it off down to the first leaves.

by deadheading them they will rebloom more or you can leave it on for birds and insects. if you leave them on it will regrow new plants when the seeds germinate themselves!
i grew some from seed and now they have kind of taken over my whole front garden area. Lovely, but they do re-seed easily!
