What do you do for a new hydrangea plant that is not growing?

And be patient. It has to establish new roots, adjust to your soil and your climate, and grow new branches with leaves and flowers. You've done several things for the plant so far, and there are other ideas from good Hometalkers. Do a couple more things if you want to, then leave it alone except watering when the ground is dry. When first planted they sometimes sit for a while to gather energy to bloom and grow. As long as they are not dying I think it will bloom next year.

I use very weak coffee, saved from left over coffee adding enough water for amber color. Pour on root area of plant. Or use old coffee grinds spreading under plant then work a little into soil. I feed them about once a month. Mine love it, results, beautiful large blue flowers, lush green leaves. (I have acidic soil so have blue blooms.)

Thank you Hometalkers for your advice. The hardest one for me is "be patient" but I will let the hydrangea grow at its own pace.
