Hosts yellowing leaves
Solved the problem of slugs eating the leaves with copper wrapping. But what about individual leaves turning yellow, not the entire host, just a few leaves so far.

You can't save the dying leaves on your Hosta's but don't worry your plants will come back pretty next spring. They could also be browning because of to much sun or excessive heat. If this is the case you need to either move your plants or put some shade over them during the hottest part of the day. To much sun burns the leaves and if it's very hot you don't want to move them until the weather is cooler so as not to stress the roots to much and put your plants in shock. If you do have to move your plants do it on a cooler day preferably in the early fall or early spring and divide them if they are large. You can divide them by digging up the whole plant and just take a spade and chop thru the plant either in half or quarters depending on how big your plant is then plant each new section as usual. This is a great way to gain new Hosta's without having to buy new plants which aren't cheap anymore and in a few years you'll have plants as big as the parent plant was. If you never divide your Hosta's they will eventually get so crowded that they will slowly die out completely. Hope this helps!
