Pictures show a grey color.
lightly sand it, then it's ready to be painted
Use chalk paint or fusion paint if the set is in good shape (ie no chips) no sanding required and you will be able to get the colour that you want
How many pieces of this set do you have? I ask that question because just this piece alone will be labor intensive because of all the detail. I agree with Peg that it does not show as slightly yellow but I'm assuming that the photo didn't pick up on that. It would be beautiful painted white. White would fit into any color scheme now and in the future. Lightly sand surface with 250 grit sandpaper. Use hair dryer or leaf blower to remove the fine dust on sanded surfaces. Wipe done with slightly damp cloth, allow to dry completely and paint using a really good brush. I don't like chalk paint personally but that is one way to go. There are many other paints out there that will do an excellent job. I'd love to see the finished product. It's going to be beautiful .
I had something similar and I used fusion mineral paint, but first i did a light sanding and then wiped the whole thing off so that it was clean. Don't worry about sanding everything. You will be amazed. I suggest you look at the Fusion Mineral Paint site for inspiration!
In the last photo I can see its blond dresser. Take the hardware off, and sand it down, use a vacuum then a tack cloth to get rid of dust, then paint. I like the grey color the top photos look like, maybe match it to this or a shade of your wall color. It might also look spectacular in the new pearlized black (which actually a charcole) in the new 2018 color of year, and one of 3 best feng shui colors for 2018.
