Mulch with pine needles and oak leaves to add acid. If you're in a hurry, there are several brands of soil acidifiers available at most home centers.

get soil tested to see level of alkaline or acid soil. talk to experts about what will grow best in either. You may have to adjust soil PH to get what you want to grow.
