Try a white rubber used for pencils
Try Mr. Clean magic eraser.
try the mr clean magic eraser...if not, nail polish remover
Sand Paper if you are going to sand the floors - You could just leave them there as a historical feature.
Have you cleaned the floors since taking the carpet up? If you plan on refinishing the floors, the sanding will take care of any surface blemishes. I actually like all the marks and dings, adds character.
