vinyl plank flooring is inexpensive and easy to install over old flooring. Looks and feels like real wood flooring. We installed it over an old tile floor. It looks fantastic. We did fill the grout lines to be on safe side. You may have to fill the cracks if they are large. Ask you hardware store what to use for filler.
Is the floor over wood, concrete etc..? If concrete, there is a self leveling concrete crack filler on the market, which means it will flow and spread on its own and it remains soft. look for it in building supply store.
