First of all you want to start off with a cardboard heart.
I cut mine out of a cereal box, and it can be however large you want it to be.
Then you take book pages (mine were from a vintage book), and roll each page up diagonally and seal it with glue. hen you start gluing them around the outside perimeter of your heart.
Once the entire outer rim is complete, move inward a few inches from where you adhered the first layer, and keep bringing each layer closer to the center of the heart.Once all of the layers are completed, you will have a flat area in the middle of your heart. You can put anything from flowers, to old jewelry in there. I the middle of mine I cut the top off of a little box and adhered it with hot glue.
