Why are my basil leaves turning light green?

Probably either not enough sun, too much water or if they are potted plants, your pots may be too small.

If they are in pots ,try re-potting them in fresh soil.

usually that happens when you overwater it. Make sure your pots have good drainage.

I started adding Epsom salts (magnesium) to the water for my plants... They are healthier than ever before. Now the rest of the family is doing the same and raving about the results. Something about making nutrients more readily to them.

You're over watering...

I too think you might be watering them too much. Also, good drainage is vital. If your pots don't have adequate holes for drainage, you can put rocks in the bottom of the pot and cover them with a layer of newspaper. Then add the soil and finally the plant. Good luck.

I agree with the overwatering. When it rains a lot over an extended period of time and my pot can't dry out they start getting a little paler. I use a self watering pot for mine so that I know they pretty much dry out before I refill the bottom again.
