Want to plant flowers that come back each year, any suggestions?

1. Check what zone you live in, 2. Visit a store where they sell "Perennials", 3. Do your homework and analyze how much sun the areas you want to plant get each day. Are they shaded by the house or trees and bushes, or clear of shade, Make a little layout of your yard and mark it up to get a clear idea of these factors. 4. Go to the library and get a book out on gardening. Discover flowering plants you like. 5. Make a layout of the garden area you want to plant with measurements. Rough circle in the number of plants that might fit there when mature. Don't squeeze in to many! Give them space to grow and mature comfortably. 6. Choose flowering plants or leafy vegetation (like hostas) based on the amount of sun needed daily to thrive as indicated by the grower on each plant. Mix up your beds with taller and shorter flowering plants. Or, plant beds of distinct types of flowers like roses, lilies, poppies for splashes of color. Use attractive larger rocks as a backdrop for your flowering plants. Rocks hold moisture in the earth. 7. Be sure to use a good soil with a 6 month feeding guarantee when planting to help support their rooting over the Summer and Fall before colder weather comes in. When planting add water into the hole with the potting soil to make mud, then seal in with just potting soil patted gently around the root ball. 8. Mulch them well, or pile leaves from trees over them in the fall after they've died back to protect the roots, especially the first year. ((Be sure to rake off the leaves before they begin to send up leaves in the Spring, or you'll be doing it by hand, which is tedious.) 9. Be sure to water them every evening during the warm Summer months, especially if it is dry outside for days on end. 10. A shot of Miracle Grow mixed in water once a month will make them happy and full of flowers. 11. Talk nicely to them. They like that! Hope this helps!

choose those that say perennials. Get a variety of blooming times, early spring, spring, all summer, late summer and early fall.

You want Perennials...like purple cone flowers...or Day lillies...clematis is a vine that comes back...coreopsis has many types...black eyed Susan's too.

kalanchoe plants come back each year.I have these plants and they're starting to flower.You can get different colours like pink,orange and yellow.I hope this has helped.
