I've used cooking oil and a rough facecloth....and time.....and lots of rubbing. That stuff is dreadful, isn't it?

Oh you poor dear. Lava soap & hand location.

First slather on the lotion, it will reduce chafing. Then wash with Lava soap (or Liquid Lava); it's an astringent soap with flakes of real pumice. The harsh soap & abrasives with work off most of the foam.

Unfortunately, you may have to repeat the 2-step process several times.

When you have it down to raw skin, hit it with more lotion & then stick your hands in cotton gloves (or socks) to let the lotion soak in better. If your skin is really raw, you may prefer to use either an aloe-based burn ointment or an anti-biotic like Neosporin.

For future reference, I use disposable gloves while applying the foam. Then, when I am done, I toss them and have mess-free hands.

There are alternatives, if you don't like disposanle gloves. My grandfather, a man's-man if there ever was, would pretreat his hands by rubbing in gobs of cold cream cleanser (think Noxima). The lipids & serficants keep anything from sticking to you.

We trimmed and peeled it down as low as we could get it, soaked it in hot water with Dawn Dish Soap, peeled as much more as we could get them smeared Vaseline all ove, put on come brown cotton gloves on. He slept in them overnight and the rest peeled off easily the next morning.
