They do make 12" drill bits, you can mark the center on each end, and drill half way from each end with a 6" x 3/8"

I love birch trees! Make a perfect shade for it. Get a shade that is smooth (not fabric). Pick birch tree leaves and press them dry and then use Mod Podge to adhere the leaves on the shade. Let it dry and then coat it several times over. I have made them using ferns and fall leaves. They are unique and beautiful.
