If the surface is smooth-ish, break out the lemon oil and microfiber cloths. Massage in with a saturated cloth in circular motions. Let sit for a few minutes & then wipe wipe up excess & buff in small circles. (Remember The Karate Kid? Mr. Miagee was very adamant, apply in circles 1 way & then remove with circles the other way)
If your wood is rough, dust with compressed air (the canned stuff for your computer keyboard is fine), then apply & buff an appropriate wax polish. My grandmother was one for pure beeswax, but that can be awkward if you ever have a guest with a severe bee alergy.
