by
Tizer Botanic Gardens & Arboretum
(IC: professional)
We're growing two very unusual Lilac varieties. Syringa vulgaris, ‘Aucubaefolia’, Aucubaefolia Lilac. Zone2. Taken from a sport of President Grevy. Foliage is splashed and streaked withgold and yellow. Blooms are double and blue in color. Photo included here.
Syringa vulgaris ‘Bron Improved Dapple’, Bron ImprovedDappled Lilac. Zone 2. 8’ tall, 6.5’ wide. A Bron selection of the Dappled DawnLilac with a more large intense dark & yellow-green variegation, streaks& spotting. Deep red-purple buds open to fragrant single magenta blooms inspring. No photo here but looks very similar to the other 2 photo's of the 'Aucubaefolia’.
The foliage stays like this throughout the growing season.
