Is there a way to make chalkboard paint?My mother in law says there is,but how?Thank you.

You need unsanded grout-1 tablespoon per cup of latex paint. Mix well and do 2 coats.

you can also make it with plaster of paris or baking soda- just google diy chalk paint. Some sites will give you all three recipes and their opions on which ones are best for what type of project.

Home Depot now sell a chalk paint online. I've tried it and it very good; and, it is made by DecoArt-Americana. It is also less than half the price of ASCP. http://www.homedepot.com/p/DecoArt-Americana-Decor-16-oz-Everlasting-Chalky-Finish-ADC01-83/204660551?N=5yc1vZc61q It also come in an 8oz size that is less than $9. Free shipping to store. It is worth trying out an 8 oz size to see if you like it. I found it thicker and creamier than ASCP.
