It should be on with just some screw on the inside.

We painted ours instead. It was a long time ago but I think we used paint designed for barbeques to resist the heat. It was a spray paint. The black paint made it much less objectionable.
I sure would be careful! If no easy solution to remove I would get a stone guy in to look at it, you risk chipping up the marble. But why do you want to remove it? Just paint it. If it is removed, you will likely have a rough edge that will need work.
Can you find something really thin that you can run along in the space and discover where the attachments are? Then you would know where to look for the screws on the inside.
Should be brackets with screws on the inside sides of the frame.
Mine were inside by bifold doors and along each side and on the bottom right corner should be one and these can be spray paint with high heat spray paint. Just a thought💡
Sounds good to me will try it & let you know! Thank you, Gloria
Open both doors, not all the way, lift them to free the bottom pivots, lower and remove, set the doors aside. Using a flashlight , look on the inside of the frame, they're should be 4 screws or bolts, 1 at the top of each side stile, side frame, and 1 at each bottom. Turn them counter clock-wise, bottom ones first, and be careful to NOT get a face full of ashes, don't ask me how I know that
I have the same fireplace screen on my brick fireplace. It's mainly held in place by spring tension. There are a couple of small screws on the inside, at the top I think. It should not be screwed into your marble. I plan to remove mine as well. If I like it off I'll leave it. If not I will spray paint it with high heat black spray paint. It's what you use on barbecue pits. Good luck.
Absolutely paint it! Will make a huge difference. (I'm not a fan of brass anything).
