I was inspired by an artist that I follow, Randi at ZENgara Designs. I will never reach her level of talent but I wanted to give it a go! I love her stained glass look on wood and I wanted to try it. I didn't have a wood piece available but I had a frame that I had laying around so I picked it up and gave it a whirl!
I can't draw a stick figure so I had a coloring book that had interesting abstract shapes on it and decided to use that as my template. I placed the coloring book page underneath the glass and then began to outline.
I used an Allure Dimension pen to outline the design. First time using this and I was pleased with the ease of use.
Once I had the one side done I moved the coloring book page over being careful to line it up and continued my outline.
Here it is all outlined. It's not perfect but it was close! I let it dry overnight before I started filling it in.
I grabbed my color pallet, I used Unicorn SPiT for this project. I love that I can use this paint/stain/glaze on everything.
I started putting colors down. I had no particular direction in mind just added them as I went along.
Getting there! I filled in all the colors and let dry over night.
I needed to seal the project and there was some spots that were showing through so I grabbed this can of gold spray paint I had laying around and gave the back a light coat. Figured I would get a two 'fer :) One it would seal it and two it would act as a base to cover the little bits showing.
Here it is all sprayed!
Next I needed to paint the frame. One of my favorite paint lines is Wise Owl. I love the coverage and adhesion of this paint.
This is such a pretty color! Once I painted the frame I let it dry over night before I put it all back together.
Here it is! It definitely looks like stained glass and it compliments my daughter's room just right! Thank you for taking time to view my project!

This is so creative and the colours, Wow. For any Canadians wondering where to get the Allure Dimensional Paint and Unicorn SPiT they are available at www.unicornspitcanada.com. By the way, Navajo Jewel can be made by mixing Blue Thunder, Dragon's Belly and Zia Teal.
