There's nothing much a homeowner can do except remove the mushrooms when they bloom, Geslinger. See if you don't find this informative:

Fairy Ring is a sign of excess iron in the soil from most conventional lawn fertilizers (iron turns grass green fast and can become toxic fast)and also sign of a lack of beneficial biology to keep the pathogen (negative) biology in check. Best thing you can do and I have had luck on many yards is to apply a good biological and go a little heavier to the infected are. This area will pop back to normal fairly quickly, also helps to sprinkle a little grass seed in the affected area once treated if you desire so you don't have to wait for it to grow back in. One other benefit you will see is the localized wet/dry spots will even out and become more uniform and should take less water. Do you have a high level of thatch? Thank you, Shane. And what do you mean by a good "biological"? Yes, I do have thatch and have never de-thatched my lawn in the 9 years I've been here.
