Can I get small scatches covered/polished out of my sealed hardwood fl
-
Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Feb 11, 2014Depending upon the seal coat that was used will determine how you would remove the small scratches. If the floor was properly sealed using several coats of poly then a white buffing pad with polish should do the trick. If there is only one or perhaps two coats of poly applied, the thickness of the finish is such that most likely the scratches go down into the stain finish. If that is the case, a screen sanding followed by cleaning and application of new poly coat is the only way around these scratches. Several coats followed by lighter and lighter sanding's will build up the finish so the floor is easier to maintain. Remember though you need to allow the floor to dry for several days before you can begin to start using it again. Another method that people use is Bona. These product will help hide even the worse floors from showing up scratches. Its a short term type of repair, but many people have great luck using their products.
