The flowers grow on new stems. Make sure not to prune at the wrong time.

Hydrangea buds need ants to eat through the wax covering to allow them to bloom. If you sprayed them with something that kills the ants, no flowers.

Hello Net; I am wondering if you need to add nutrients to your soil, where the Hydrangeas are planted.

Also, they like to be in partial shade.

If I were you, I would dig around my plants well and I would add a mixture of cow manure, peat, plain soil, and if you have any composting material, I would add that, also. Mix this well before adding.

I would water well. I would fertilize the plants, in a couple of weeks.

I hope that this is helpful to you!!! Take Care!
