Hi Robyn! First sweep, vacuum and/or dust. Clean with a damp mop. Use special markers that are made to cover scratches and scuffs in wood furniture and floors (a set of 3 wood color markers sells for $1 at the Dollar Tree in their hardware section). Mop floor with a floor cleaner and buff dry to maintain the shine. Good luck!
Home Depot has a line of Holloway quick shine. First you clean with Thier floor cleaner, then use the quick shine. My floors are over 70 6ears old. It makes them look great
Bona makes excellent products. I also like Old English products too. Or in a tight pinch, spray on Scott's Liquid Gold, spray on thick and polish with a soft cloth. Can be picked up at Walmart or similar type stores - in my area Walmart is the cheapest.
I used mop n glow floor wax, it gives a much better look to the worn wood. Any floor wax will help. Goes on with a rag on a swifter. Just pour and spread, nothing to lose. should give a decent look. Did this in a house we were renting years ago, made things look much better.
