Sand the rusted areas, clean, spray paint with Rustoleums 2X for metal giving it two light coats allowing to dry in-between,and seal with a clear Uv spray protectant
you could sand blast and spray paint with rust paint. or use a rust converter
I did this to wrought iron table and chairs. Sand away rust(sponge hand sander is easier) in open area spray with Rustolium spray. There are several different styles of finishes. Have fun. Lynne
The first thing scrape off what you can by hand, wear a glove, then use steel wool. Smooth the bench and you'll be ready to paint. First find out what base or primer is for out doors, then paint it. Good Luck!
paint it with Rustoleum.
Using a wire brush, get rid of rust. Then wash and dry real good. There are great spray paints from Krylon that can give it a color finish, a stone finish or other finish.
Naval jelly works well on rust. Use a wire brush for the rest. Then spray paint with Rustolium to prevent further damage .
