What do you want the stand for?
You could by hairpin legs to attach. Paint the wood how you want it to look and add those. You can buy other types of table legs, as well. You can also use piping as table legs for an industrial look.
What would you like to use the stand for? Depending on the weight load, size of items you want to use, etc. will determine the dimensions. There are free building plans on this site and Pinterest that you could search if you have a specific idea for. The taller it is, the weight it's carrying will affect the stability of what you build.
Hello Cynthia; I have seen several wonderful ideas on building stands, by using wooden shelves on Google and Pinterest.
Also, I have seen Lovely solid wooden legs that you can use for the base at Home Depot.
One way that you could make an easy stand would be by drilling holes in each board, line them up measure and then add solid wooden spacers between each piece of wood.
I hope that these ideas help you!!! Take Care!
You can get many lengths of pre-turned legs in multiple styles at the you local home improvement store or lumber yard I used some to make a drop-leaf extension table for the back of my open island from dining room/kitchen. I then used some with an extra louvered door to make a drop-leaf serving area for on my deck. (I tiled over the louvers to make a solid surface. works great for hot items!)
