Spray the stain with water. Mix baking soda and water into a paste and apply it to the stain. Cover with plastic wrap, and leave that in place for twenty-four hours. Wipe the baking soda paste away and check the condition of the counter. You may have to repeat.
Some people I know used bleach covered with plastic to keep it dry. They said they were told to let it set over night, but they found the stain was gone in an hour or so. I would be afraid to try bleach without talking to an installer or someone who knows granite. This did seem the simplest and the orange granite counter looked beautiful. I'd keep my eye on it and as soon as it was gone , I'd be sure to rinse the bleach off asap.
Hello Rmeredith;
Mix up equal parts of powder and hydrogen peroxide.
Apply the paste to the stain.
Make sure to Only put it on the stain.
Cover the paste with plastic wrap and tape down the edge.
Leave the plastic wrap on the paste for a day.
Remove the plastic.
The paste must completely air dry.
Once the paste is dry, remove paste, with a plastic scrapper.
I hope that this helps you!!!! Take Care!
