I purchased the Omega Paw self-cleaning kitty litter box from Amazon. It is a covered litter box.

I have used the Petmate Scoopfree Automatic Litterbox for over 10 years. It is absolutely the best hands free auto litterbox made, i have tried them all. You put a disposable plastic line cardboard cartridge full fFreshstep crystals in and literally leave it alone for weeks dependong on how many cars you have. There is no odor as the crystals dry out the solid waster and absorb the liquid, no smell! Absolutely the best, and they never break down, never jam and are pretty quiet! It also has a counter which acts as a healthmeter. If you see an abnormal increase in usage you know it and can take your cat to the vet to see if there is a reason, like disbetes, kidney disease, etc. it helped me get my cat help more than once over the years by monitoring the number of uses between changing the cartridge.

I'm not sure what you're asking but I'm going tell you what I think about litter boxes and cat litter. I think the best litter box to get is the plastic one that has the top on it. The reason is is that when the cat goes to cover up its business that has just done, none of the litter will come out onto the floor and the dust will be contained as the cat is scratching to cover up his business. I like scoop away it's in a purple box and it's sold at all kinds of stores including Walmart. Walmart has the best price so far as much as I have checked around that is. I like scoop away because you can literally scoop out the urine which is in clumps and the poop and then just add some as needed. You really don't even have to clean it out and its entirety much at all and as long as you stay on top of it and clean it out at least once a day you will never ever smell anything lingering much past and initial poop as it happens. So I found it to be the best for short-term and long-term uses with kitty cats

Best advice is to clean very often and stick to one brand of litter. Keep the litter box in the same location, do not change the location, kitties dont like change. 🐾

There are many types of litter boxes and many types of litter. Just remember that not all cats like all litters or even litter boxes for that matter. I actually started with a scoop-free liter box, but the machine was running constantly because I had more than 3 cats (and I had a huge problem with urine-clogged combs). As I now have more cats, I finally bought the PERFECT litter boxes from Amazon, the AlphaPet, which is a large, step-in box with a latch-on, see-through lid. I have a very large Maine Coon (30 pounds) who actually fits in the box, is able to turn around, shake his feet and step out without much in the way of litter on the floor. My smallest cat (4 pounds) also likes the box for the same reasons, but when she steps out, she is not pounced upon unknowingly. The box is easy to clean, and there is no run-over from litter or urine down the sides. I use Multi-Cat FreshStep which my cats really like. (In the past, we have tried wheat, newspaper and pine litters; none of which the cats liked). Now, because of the number of cats I have, I have several AlphaPet boxes (split between the 3 floors of our home), which I clean twice daily (because I have 2 cats who will not use a dirty box).

I train mine to go outside. Litter boxes are unhygienic, smelly, and can be dangerous especially to pregnant women. Have a lovely day.
