360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on Feb 13, 2014if you are asking what it plant, I agree with the others, that it is an azalea. If you are asking if it is safe to plant in Tn, I would advise waiting a bit. It is plant that will survive out side in Tn, but it is used to being inside. It will need to be acclimated to the outdoors, by allowing it to go in and out for a while with the temperature drops. It looks like it may have been braided? (can't tell from the picture) if so , you can continue to train it or allow it do do its own thing and grow as it wants.Helpful Reply

Kimberly A on Feb 14, 2014I have over 200 azaleas in various flower beds and this one from your picture looks like a Gumpo azalea. Those stay a bit smaller. They are selling them right now just like that in my local Home Depot potted just like that. Enjoy it for many years.Helpful Reply

Rose S on Feb 14, 2014Lovely Azalea. I wish someone gave me one like that for Valentine. You might even be able to plant it outside and enjoy it for years to come. :-)Helpful Reply

Carol on Feb 14, 2014Depending on where you are in TN as to planting. Wait until after the last frost then plant in a sunny location. I lived in NC for years and my mother planted lots of these. They were left in the ground year round. She'd cover them with leaves and straw before the first frost.. Then in the spring she'd cut off all the old limbs and branches and new ones would grow from the ground up.Helpful Reply

Irish53 on Feb 14, 2014it is a double blossom azalea. the leaves are too narrow to be anything else. Wait for the frost to be gone. once planted outside mulch to keep warm over night. Will help it to adjust to outside. you may want to plant in pot 2 inches bigger to let the roots stretch in the mean time.Helpful Reply

Tre298347 on Feb 15, 2014defiitely azalea and looking like it needs to be planted pretty soon. azaleas are not inside plants, while they can be nice inside for awhile before planting outside. they love the shady, a little bit moist spots. i had azaleas that grew huge in north florida. here in california they grow better in the coastal areas, looks like this one could become a little azalea tree with a continued pruning of the leaves that might grow on the trunk. enjoy it. :)Helpful Reply
