Getting Started With the Living Room Remodel

With larger (Kitchen) projects financially out of reach we're going to attack the living room,... front room?... parlor? As noted on "The To Do List", it really needs an update. It's Sweetie's "One Nice Room", through which visitors enter the castle. No eating, drinking or toys allowed! It's where the breakables are kept. It also doubles as a temporary guest room for out of town visitors. It needs flooring, a TV stand, paint, a touch of ceiling repair, and a touch of TLC. we've been discussing attacking it for quite some time.
We launch the project in Living Room Remodel - Episode I (Here we go!) :
The paint is too dark the, the TV stand is beat up and ugly,...
...the entry way is just too plain, although we're keeping the tile.
...Don't even get me started on the stained up, wrinkled, builder's grade carpet. Ughhh!
It's time to freshen this place up. We nee more storage than the single barrister's bookcase. Here we go!

Are you planning on staying with shabby chic?

Let's go with Urban Chic. Does that work? Oh - you ARE funny! I just read most of your blog, because you're funny, I like what you're doing with IKEA (Husband is a big fan, of the nice-looking-for-cheap aspect), and I have work I should be doing. When it comes to being a power tool addict, we feel your pain - delight - pain. Soldier on!

Thanks for the kind words@Susie. I've been recharging my blogging mojo for a couple weeks; you've made me want to get back at it.
