can you purchase and install a drip hose? I found one at the dollar store, you would have to snake it under the rocks and through the hostas at the base...poke some holes through the plastic (you used plastic and not landscape fabric?) at the base so water can get in. The one I found has an end that you would attach to your hose like a sprinkler. But as it drips, water should be able to seep into the ground rather than no just run off.
Still going to need edging, metal edging can be purchased at "big box" stores or local garden and landscaping. Check with your local landscaping guys, you might need mulch more than marble
Mulch might sat better and will keep moisture in the ground. When putting mulch down, spray it with water to set it when done.
