Hello fang; I personally have redone several floors of Friends by using Vinyl Tiles.
Please go to Home Depot, Lowes, Etc.
Look in the clearance section, as you will be amazed at what is marked down, and I would suggest that you purchase higher end tiles, as they will hold up better.
Also, purchase more than you think that you will need, as you might need some for repairs.
Lastly, if you need help, ask Friends, or even an older teen who would enjoy making a bit of money.
It is not hard to lay these tiles, it is just time consuming, and you need patience.
