COASTAL MONOGRAM

Let’s think summer time at the Beach in this snowyweather. This is my featured project forthis Sunday at Michaels Pinterest Party being sponsored by Hometalk. Do you have a spot in your home for thisCoastal Monogram?
Why not think about using shells you picked up on a trip to the beach to make it a bit more personalized? If you don't have shells, you can always pick up a variety of packages at Michaels.
Here's the supplies you will need: Burlap canvas, scrapbook paper, Mod Podge, sea shells, sponge brush, paint brush, wooden letter, star fish, Tim Holtz Distress Paint, acrylic paint, hot glue gun
Using my paint, I did a dry brush method over most of the burlap canvas, plus using the bristle brush to actually scrub the paint into areas to give it a more covered look, but not a solid cover. The edges of the “P” was also painted.
After drying, trace your letter on the reverse side of your paper. Make sure you turn the letter over so you will get it right side up. Since distressing, I allowed 1/4" extra around the edges.
Did you notice a difference in my letters? The unfinished wood letter looked a bit big so another letter was chosen for better proportion. Do you ever change items in your project?
Using Mod Podge to adhere paper to letter, smoothing out with an old gift card to avoid air bubbles. After drying, sand the extra off. Can be distressed with using Tim Holtz Distress Paint or even a stamp pad.
Finish up by placing you monogram and shells in a pattern pleasing to you. Add the starfish. I will hang this using 3M Command Strips.
