DIY Laundry Soap

I finally found a DIY Soap combination that works for our family!
You can make a big batch of soap with just a few simple ingredients. I use Borax, Baking Soda, Dawn and Fels Naptha.
I combine the ingredients in a gallon jug and fill it with water. Recipe and complete tutorial is on the blog.

Your a tough cookie when it comes to laundry! Did you know the only difference between washing soda and baking soda is the baking soda is heated? You can make your own washing soda ... A lot of people can't find it especially in foreign countries. And sometimes it's cheaper. You spread baking sofa on a cookie sheet and warm it up in the oven... Simple And Iove how you enforce your laundry policy!

@Sherrie Thanks so much for clarifying that! I will probably stick to the baking soda for now, but I will try the washing soda when my son the mechanic comes home to visit!

I made a bucket of laundry detergent, and I apparently didn't do it correctly, I have made it several times with no problems, but because I had ground the soap into a powder I put it in the bucket with hot water to disolve then the powered ingred, the powder solidified on bottom and top and just liquid in the middle. Any ideas on how to fix it? Reheat it all or better easier idea?

@Barbara Cox Mine does the same thing, I just shake it up before pouring it. I have tried heating it again as well, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Shaking it works just as well.
