Not all sconces are the same size and made the same for chandeliers.
Sconces are hung from walls not ceilings. Otherwise the process is the same.
If you are talking about the wiring than yes they are
As long as your replacing existing sconces in the location you plan on installing the new ones, yes you can switch them out. If its a new location, your going to need an electrician to pull wires.
