Did you try the food that produces BLOOMS.......that is what I use on a LOT of my plants............It says BLOOMS on it..and you mix it with water.
Is it getting enough sun? The long branches are runners and you can trim those because your plant is wasting energy on them. Is the soil right? You can always move it. Good luck!
Bougainvillea also needs to set out completely between waterings. If is stays moist it will not bloom.
Hard as it is to believe of something so beautiful, bougainvillea is basically a weed and doesn't want you to love it. They bloom best when they are root bound so a lot of folks plant them in the pot. Don't water them very much, let them dry to about 2" down. Any plant food heavy on nitrogen will make them vine instead of bloom.
How much sun does it get? Lack of sun will interfere with blooming
I ignore mine, no food, no attention, water every 2-3 days and it explodes with blooms. I have a red and a pink, both doing extremely well. Try neglecting:) I use to love my plants to death.....
I have both in-ground and in huge pots. I ignore them but twice a year I do sprinkle them with bouganvillea food. They bloom quite a bit.
