Rust-Oleum makes a special paint that is designed for this purpose!!!

Rustoleum and Giani both offer countertop restoration kits.
I saw a completed Rustoleum countertop project that mimicked granite, and it was very nice.
You can paint them or stencil random designs on them in complimentary color for a totally different look.
