1. Only purchased plants for my growing zone and
2. Plant in the directed location (sun, shade, etc.)
I do not generally water my plants - they get watered 2x/week by the irrigation system. The only things I water by hand are things in pots.
Yes, it can if the plants are not the right type for the location. Others may need to be planted in the fall, winter or early spring to become established before the heat of the long hot summers.
Wha plants did you use?
REPLANT NEW GRASS - CALLED GRASSOLOGY - DROUGHT RESISTANT - ONLY GROWS 2" TALL & HAS 4 TIMES DEEPER ROOTS !!! NEVER NEEDS TO BE MOWED !!!
It depends upon what kind of plants you are planting. Shade plants will not do well in the hot Arizona sun. Cactus love it! And yes, you can overwater.....
Sometimes, even if you plant the correct plants in the right locations, direct sun with wind and drought can take its toll. Plants, no matter if watered or fertilized correctly in these situations will suffer and need a little help. Newly purchased plants will often need to be hardened (introduced) slowly to the full weather conditions of their new homes, too. Soil quality also plays a major role in if a plant survives.
