  • How fun! If you live in the right climate, it should do well - here is a link.

To grow mangoes, you would have to purchase mature trees since only mature trees produce the fruit. You can, however, plant a mango seed to start a tree. Here is how:

I am jyet really excited about growing the trees. It would really be cool. I asked a guy at Home Depot in the garden depar how to grow them. He said that they do not grow in America. I nearly busted out laughing in his face.

Eat a nice mango, remove as much flesh from the seed as possible and then let it dry for a day or two. To germinate the mango seed you could just put the whole thing in a warm, moist place and wait for it to sprout. Then cut off all the seedlings except for one. (The smallest supposedly gives you the best fruit.)

Thank you. I laughed out loud about the warm moist place. I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas. The whole area is warm and moist, really super hot and moist. I am going to start to grow mangos tomorrow.

By the way, we went on a cruise that stopped in Belize. We were walking around and saw a man sweeping mangos from his trees into the gutters. His trees, as others, were so full that the branches were dragging the ground. On a bus ride to our destination, we saw wild mangos, bananas, citris trees, and many other kind all over the jungles. I don't know how anyone could go hungry there. I feel in love with Belize.
