Retro TV Picture Frame: Hometalk & Michaels Pinterest Party

I'm delighted to be the guest blogger at the Hometalk & Michaels Pinterest Party Sunday Feb. 16 at the Hawthorne, California store. One of the featured Pinterest projects is a wooden frame. Here is my take on it. I turned it into a retro television set. So whoever is in the frame becomes a star!
This unfinished wooden frame from Michaels is only $1. For less than $8 in materials, it turns into this fun, retro TV set.
For this project, I bought blue glitter cardstock, woodgrained scrapbook paper, buttons, and knitting needles. All from Michaels.
I glued the wood scrapbook paper to the frame and trimmed the excess with a craft knife. It looks like real wood!
I then cut the glitter cardstock to fit inside the frame, and cut a hole in the middle of that. I went for an oval TV screen.
For the TV dials, I glued buttons on one side of the frame.
And my favorite part – knitting needles glued to the back as the antenna. I'm going to make a bunch more of these as gifts. Be sure to visit your local Michaels for the Pinterest party. #MPinterestParty
